AULDHOUSE PRIMARY SCHOOL PARENT COUNCIL
c/o Auldhouse Primary, Langlands Road, East Kilbride G75 9DW
Hi everyone. As we rush towards Christmas, the Parent Council just wanted to update you all on the results of a fantastic, busy term. Our next meeting is not until January, when we’ll be planning more fundraising for the spring and summer terms – please send us your ideas and feedback, or come along and share your views. We can’t do it without you!
Our first ever All for Auldhouse quiz night was a quiz night like no other (where else could you win a day at the circus AND free slices of haggis?) and it raised the brilliant sum of £325.
Highlights of the evening included the teachers’ team asking if spelling was important (!); Rebecca’s attempt at a Scottish accent; and janitor Mrs MacDonald’s lovely rendition of Whitney Houston’s One Moment in Time….
Thank you to all the teams who took part and to everyone who bought raffle tickets. Special thanks go to Pauline O’Donnell and the Lost Lamb staff; all the local businesses who donated prizes, including Zippo’s, Kelburn Castle, Roast Den, Tunnock’s, Arran Aromatics, Pavilion and Citizens Theatres and Glasgow Science Centre; the pupils who came up with a fiendishly difficult round of questions; and above all, to the hardworking, madly brilliant quizmasters, Rebecca and Mandy, everyone’s favourite new double
The quiz night total of £325, plus the movie night total of £117.37 and spooky stroll takings of £244 PLUS a donation from the Forest School Out of School Club of £60.25 means the total you have raised since we started back in August is £746.62 – an amazing sum! By supporting Parent Council events, you are helping to fund important classroom resources, sports equipment and outings for all of our children. Thanks very much for your continued generosity and support.
The next meeting of the Parent Council is January 28. All welcome. Have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!
